The route begins at the port of Troia, next to the marina, where dock the catamarans that connect hour by hour with Setúbal. These boats only transports people, not motor vehicles. But a bicycle is always welcome aboard...

Make sure you are well equipped. The course is long and hard: a lot of sand and sun... And a certain monotony in the landscape that goes along.

Follow, on foot or by bicycle, the bicycle path that from the port of Troia heads south along the peninsula of Troia along the asphalted road that connects Comporta. You will pass by Troia Golf, located between the road and the sea, and also by Soltroia urbanization, where the bike path ends.

Continue on the paved road to the south, and at 38.27.13N 08.51.10W exit the road and take a sidewalk to southwest, through the sparse vegetation that develops in the sandy terrain. The remaining 11 kilometers of this course will be in sand! But the paved road will always be near, and the beach too: a bath, a few hours of rest with the waves in the background will be the best.

When you reach the coastal dune, head south along it by the interior. Try to get back on the road in the Malha da Costa area, at 38.25.18N 08.49.17W, before the high voltage electric pole no. 36, from where you can enjoy a splendid view of the Sado estuary. On the left, on the north bank of the estuary, the towers of the paper-mill of Portucel, a little bit to the right the Setenave's facilities and, near us, in the south bank, on the other side of Esteiro Novo, the Carrasqueira rice field and also, behind from the estuary, the Herdade do Pinheiro. Further to the right, still behind the rice paddy, you can glimpse Carrasqueira village.

Exit again from the road, to southwest, by the post 34, by a path that returns to the scattered thicket that covers this peninsula of Troia. The proposed course, sandy, runs between the coastal dune and the secondary dune, always to the south, among a monotonous landscape of undeveloped pine trees and acacias. You can at any time choose to reach the beach and continue south.

A radar over a metal tower marks the proximity to the end of the course. You will eventually arrive at Praia da Comporta parking lot. Restore yourself. And enjoy this paradise at your disposal.

O percurso inicia-se no porto de embarque de Troia, junto à marina, onde atracam os catamarans que estabelecem a ligação, hora a hora, com Setúbal. Para aqui, o tráfego fluvial por sobre o Sado faz apenas o transporte de pessoas, não transportando veículos automóveis. Mas uma bicicleta é sempre bem-vinda a bordo…

Verifique se está bem equipado. O percurso é longo e exigente: muita areia e sol… E uma certa monotonia na paisagem que vai percorrer.

Siga, a pé ou de bicicleta, pela ciclovia que do porto atravessa Troia e se dirige para sul, pela península de Troia, ao longo da estrada asfaltada que liga à Comporta. Irá passar pelo Troia Golf, situado entre a estrada e o mar, e ainda pela urbanização da Soltroia, onde a ciclovia termina.

Continue sempre pela estrada asfaltada, para sul, e em 38.27.13N 08.51.10W saia da estrada e tome uma vereda à direita, para sudoeste, por entre a vegetação esparsa que se desenvolve no terreno arenoso. Os restantes 11 quilómetros deste percurso serão em areia! Mas a estrada asfaltada estará sempre próxima, e a praia também: um banho, umas horas de descanso com as ondas em fundo serão do melhor.

Ao chegar à duna litoral, siga para sul, ao longo dela, pelo interior. Procure voltar à estrada na área da Malha da Costa, em 38.25.18N 08.49.17W, antes do poste elétrico de alta tensão n.º 36, de onde poderá desfrutar de um esplêndido ponto de vista sobre o estuário do Sado. À esquerda, na margem norte do estuário, as torres da fábrica de papel da Portucel, um pouco mais à direita as instalações da Setenave, em frente, do lado de lá do Esteiro Novo, o arrozal da Carrasqueira e por detrás, do lado de lá do estuário, a Herdade do Pinheiro. Mais à direita, ainda por detrás do arrozal, pode-se entrever a Carrasqueira.

Saia novamente da estrada, para sudoeste, junto ao poste 34, por um caminho que retorna ao matagal disperso que cobre esta península de Troia. O percurso proposto, arenoso, segue entre a duna litoral e a duna secundária, sempre para sul, por entre uma paisagem monótona de pinheiros pouco desenvolvidos e acácias. Poderá a qualquer momento optar por alcançar a praia e continuar para sul.

Um radar sobre uma torre metálica assinala a proximidade do final do percurso. Acabará por chegar ao parque de estacionamento da Praia da Comporta. Restabeleça-se. E goze deste paraíso à sua disposição.
